Begin your journey in historic St. Francisville, the
heart of West Feliciana, atop the bluffs of the mighty Mississippi just
north of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Stop off at the old hardware store,
renovated by the Historical Society and now used as a museum and
information center. Visit the information center for local history,
brochures, walking tour and directions on the area.
The downtown is built on a narrow ridge "two streets wide" and half a mile long, composed of bed & breakfasts, historic homes
and commercial buildings lined with picket fences crowded with azaleas.

The mixture of gift shops, antique shops and specialty stores enhance the
flavor of the times and are a welcome addition to the travel experience. Visiting the
historic churches and cemeteries, is truly a must.
The hilly country side around our lovely town is
speckled with plantation homes, many which are opened to the public for
tours and some with restaurant or overnight accommodations. Many of the
small country roads, arched-over with trees, make great expeditions by
car, bike or foot for viewing wildlife, natural foliage and antebellum
structures. Experience the true beauty of Felicianas the way John J.
